American Friends of the Louvre held its first  event in Chicago on September 26th.  It was hosted at a private residence along with AFL Chairman Christopher Forbes and Consul General of France in Chicago Guillaume Lacroix.   The Ritz Paris was the sponsor.
Approximately 50 people attended the reception, enjoying French-inspired hors d’oeuvres and specialty cocktails prepared by Colin Field, head bartender of the Ritz Paris.  Mr. Forbes gave a speech highlighting the mission of American Friends of the Louvre and the grants it has given to support projects at the museum.
Christian Boyens, General Manager of the Ritz,  spoke to the guests, many of whom have stayed at the hotel in recent years.  Representing the Louvre, was Guillaume Faroult, a curator in the Department of Paintings.
