A Dream of Italy: The Marquis Campana’s Collection

AFL is pleased to support the Louvre’s fall 2018 exhibition with a major grant from funds contributed by International Council members.  “A Dream of Italy: The Marquis Campana’s Collection” will be on display from November 7, 2018 to February 11, 2019.

This exhibition, co-organized with the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersberg, provides a comprehensive overview of the 19th century’s largest private collection amassed by Italy’s Giampietro Campana. The collection consisted of over 12,000 archaeological objects, paintings, sculptures, and objets d’art, and comprising both ancient and modern artefacts, over 500 of which will be on display.
