Before-hours Tour at the Morgan Library & Museum

September 25, 2024

Members and invited guests attended a before-hours curatorial tour of Liberty to the Imagination: Drawings from the Eveillard Gift. This exhibition was part of a series celebrating the Morgan’s 100th anniversary and is devoted to showcasing significant promised gifts to the museum.

Elizabeth and Jean-Marie Eveillard are long-time supporters of AFL, and their collection features French masterpieces from the 17th to the 20th century. The exhibition included work by Rembrandt, Delacroix, Cézanne, Rubens, Guercino, Jordaens, Watteau, Géricault, Constable, Degas, Renoir, Seurat, Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Rodin, Vuillard, Bonnard, and Gris, many of which have rarely been seen.

The tour was led by John Marciari, the Charles W. Engelhard Curator and Head of the Department of Drawings and Prints at the Morgan Library & Museum.
