Private tour of the exhibition “Africa & Byzantium” at The MET

AFL was pleased to invite members for a private tour of the exhibition Africa & Byzantium at The Metropolitan Museum of Art before it opens to the public. The tour was led by Dr. Andrea Achi, the Mary and Michael Jaharis associate curator of Byzantine art.

This exquisite exhibition featured a large range of masterworks—from mosaic, sculpture, pottery, and metalwork to luxury objects, paintings, and religious manuscripts —drawn from the collections of The Met and other institutional and private lenders, including the Louvre.
