Spring Art Trip to Paris
On June 25 and 26, Chairman’s Circle and International Council Members attended a variety of events in Paris to celebrate the Louvre’s acquisition of two major Hudson River School paintings thanks to the efforts of American Friends of the Louvre.
Visits included a guided tour of Forgotten Kingdoms, the Louvre’ fall exhibition which was supported by funds from the International Council. Paintings curator Guillaume Faroult then guided members through the Louvre’s exquisite 18th century French paintings galleries. Both tours took place on a Tuesday when the museum is closed to the public. Members also viewed the newly discovered 17th century masterpiece discovered during construction of the new Oscar de la Renta boutique, and enjoyed an exquisite meal at the home of a board member.
